RAPAK'S ASEPTIC BAG-IN-BOX IS FABULESS!
JANUARY 2007

Lipid Technologies Provider AB's (LTP) installation of a new aseptic bulk bag-in-box filler has demonstrated Rapak's ability to offer the highest levels of sterility for filling operations.

LTP, a lipid-based formulations specialist which has recently been acquired by DSM Food Specialities, has developed a dietary supplement called Fabuless™. Fabuless™ can be added to finished food products such as yoghurt, milk or shakes during processing to help people manage their food intake and weight in a controlled manner.

Rapak was able to link its single head Intasept® aseptic bulk filler to LTP's existing Process Control System to create a fully integrated production and filling operation with improved, simplified control and greater reliability. The new system also enables the machine operator to manage the functions of the filler from the process control room. In addition, Rapak supplied the filler with a special 'swing in' fill table that allows different bag sizes to be easily moved into place beneath the filler, enabling LTP to fill an extensive range of bags, from 10 to 1,000 litres, to meet different customer requirements.

According to Jörgen Quick, Director at LTP Sweden, "Rapak's specialist expertise in bag-in-box technology, backed by committed service and support, has provided us with a unique filling system. Equally important, the ability to fill both small and large bags allows us to service the market in a number of ways, depending on end customer needs."

"LTP's decision to use Rapak filling systems reflects the breadth and quality of product offering for bag-in-box systems and also the high level of innovation that we always seek to incorporate into our machines," comments Mark Skuse, Technical Sales Manager at Rapak. "This, coupled with our global approach and total product offering, will continue to differentiate Rapak in our future development."
